My name is Sean George and Runcible Things is the name of my studio. I am an illustrator, graphic designer and maker of strange things. I tend to bounce around between all of these things with pretty reckless abandon.
This is the very first Nerf gun I painted. I used some Citadel paints for the bronze and gold parts and the rest is grey with a lot of washing and drybrushing.
A paired set for my friend. She would commission the Penguin Guns a short time later.
One of the two Penguin Guns. I can't remember now if I did them both the same or reversed the colors for the mate. Reversing the colors sounds like what I would do.
Another commission done for a friend who plays a the Dark Prospects LARP. Dark Prospects has been good to me.
A work in progress. I keep such a tidy workspace!
This was a gift to my ex a couple years back. I really like these Nerf handbows. Similar to these is the new Star Wars bowcaster. I got to work on one of those but completely failed to take any pictures.
Hold Out Pistol
So there's this tiny torsion spring inside of a Doubleshot. If you aren't careful when you disassemble it you might lose it. I have never been able to source any replacements. Which leads us to this - a completely static prop made from a Nerf gun. The hammer and trigger don't even move.
These were an interesting challenge. They weren't done at the same time. He liked the first one so much he ordered a companion.
The Captain's Sidearm
As usual a tutorial video got me inspired to make use of some of the broken Nerf guns and gun bits I have laying around. Voila, another static prop. This one is all mine, it's going to be part of my Wasteland Scavenger costume.
The same guy who wanted the Card Guns came back for more. This time my goal was 'a pipe strapped to a piece of driftwood'. i think I got pretty close.
